A few semesters ago, I took a beginner's drawing class. I recently ran across my big tablet and decided to go ahead and upload some of what I did, even though they're pretty aweful.
The way the class worked was, we were to complete 6 drawings. A study of landscape, cloth, fur, glass, metal and figure. We chose what we were going to draw from a box of magazine clippings the professer deemed suitable for our purposes, and copied it using charcoal. Each piece was done entirely in charcoal.
This was my metal study, and also the first drawing I did in the class. The professor seemed really pleased with this one. It got my hopes up a little prematurely that the prof. saw some talent in me after my first attempt, because most of the rest of my work ended up really sucking. I think this one turned out somewhat nicely though. Lots of improvements to be made, of course, but it's my first time so gimme a break. No idea why I picked a lipstick, just thought it looked cool.
Oh yeah, and don't mind the sig there. I signed the rest in a crop-out-able place, except for this one. Oh well.
Hahaha. I can sorta draw when copying from something, sure. And my shading isn't SO bad. But my stick figures suck ass! So you're probably right about that
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!
