Never Again - X-Files Tribute

I didn't design this tattoo, nor did I tattoo it. I just took the photo, plus, this tattoo is on me ^_^ I got it done in the summer of 2008.

This tattoo has a number of origins. It was originally a Sailor Jerry design, but the main reason I chose this tattoo is because it's fabulous involvement in The X-Files (I'm a super dedicated and obsessive Phile)!

There's an episode where a guy gets this tattoo on his arm, and it starts speaking to him, telling him to kill people (which he does). It turns out there was something in the red ink that caused hallucinations. Also, Jodie Foster performed the voice for the tattoo. Pretty rad, right?!

Not only was this an awesome tattoo design to begin with, but I'm really into retro/vintage/rockabilly/pin-up style, so it's very much like something I would get tattooed on me anyway. The fact that it's from an X-Files episode as well just really made it the perfect first tattoo for me!

I think the artist did a great job with all the little lines an details (any warbles in the lines are likely due to me, I twitched a lot >_< ) He also added some nice shading and tweaked it a bit to make for an even more aesthetic tattoo, and I am SO happy with it!
